He speaks English well indeed, but of course not so fluently as a native speaker. (上海2004) So difficult did I feel it to live in an English-speaking country that I determined to learn English. 2.从句性替代词，用于“so did I, I did so, so I did”以及“I hope so”等结构中表肯定替代。如：-----Father, You promised! -----Well, so I did. But it was you who didn’t keep your word first. 3.并列连词表因果。如：The shop doesn’t open until 11a.m. so it loses a lot of business. 4.固定搭配，常见于if so, even so, or so, so as to等短语中。如： Your uncle seems to be a good driver; even so, I wouldn’t dare to travel in his car. All these gifts must be mailed immediately so as to be received in time for Christmas.
