    (1)vt. The road connects London and Edinburgh.

    The two cities are connected by a canal.

    (2)be connected with与……有关系;与……有亲戚关系
    She is connected with the Smiths.

    对比：join…to…
    Every family is joined to the world by Internet.

    connect vt.; vi.连接;联系。
