城市规划(Urban Planning)，同时包括城市、社区及区域规划，英文常作“City, Community, and Regional Planning”或“City Planning”等。城市规划目的是使用建筑设计原理，规划和设计城市、社区或区域的建筑分布，提高城市的生活质量、美观程度和便利程度、土地利用率(从而也间接达到保护土地的目的)、也包括通过更好的规划解决交通拥堵和城市污染等问题。该专业所涉及建筑包括居民房、公共交通、城市排水系统、购物中心、医院、绿化草地或公园等全部与人们生活息息相关的设施。该专业会同时涉及到土地利用、经济、交通、建筑等许多相关的知识。 城市规划与城市设计(Urban Design)是两个涵义基本一致的专业，都是设计和规划城市(小到城镇大到一个地区)的专业，多数情况下，这两个专业可以视作同一个专业。在国内，与城市规划或城市设计相类的专业，一般习惯合称为“城市规划与设计”。 该专业的毕业生通常去往政府部门或建筑公司从事城市规划的工作。 选校分析 (1)该校城市规划专业是否被美国规划认证局认证?
