1 used when you are comparing two things （作比较时用）比，较: He's taller than me. 他个子比我高。He's taller than I am. 他个子比我高。London is more expensive than Madrid. 伦敦的物价比马德里的高。You speak French much better than she does/than her. 你的法语说得比她好多了。

2 used with ‘more’ and ‘less’ before numbers, expressions of time, distance, etc （放在数字或表示时间、距离等的词语前，与more或less连用）: I've worked here for more than three years. 我在这里工作已经三年多了。

3 used after ‘would rather’ to say that you prefer one thing to another （放在would rather后，表示比较偏好某事物）: I'd rather play tennis than football. 与踢足球相比，我比较喜欢打网球。
