4 (used about a situation) to continue without changing （指情况）持续: This is a difficult period but it won't go on forever. 这是个困难时期，可总不会永远这么下去。

6 used for encouraging sb to do sth （用于鼓励某人做某事）: Oh go on, let me borrow your car. I'll bring it back in an hour. 来吧，把汽车借给我，一个钟头后准还给你。
