1 inconsistent (with sth) (used about statements, facts, etc) not the same as sth else; not matching, so that one thing must be wrong or not true (指陈述、事实等)不一致,不协调: The witnesses' accounts of the event are inconsistent. 目击者对这宗事件的陈述互相矛盾。These new facts are inconsistent with the earlier information. 新近掌握的事实跟先前的资料不吻合。
