2 (especially Brit 尤为英) very bad or unpleasant 很糟的;坏的: Careful what you say -- he's in a foul temper/mood. 说话可要小心,他心情很不好。The foul weather prevented our plane from taking off. 天气恶劣,我们的飞机不能起飞。
3 (used about language) very rude; full of swearing (指言语)粗鄙的,猥亵的: foul language 脏话
fall foul of sb/sth to get in trouble with sb/sth because you have done sth wrong 触犯: At sixteen she fell foul of the law for the first time. 她首次犯法是在十六岁的时候。

1 [I,T] (used in sports) to attack another player in a way that is not allowed (指体育)以不允许的方式攻击对手,犯规: Shearer was fouled inside the box and the referee awarded his team a penalty. 希勒在罚球区内遭对方犯规,裁判判给他的队一个点球。
2 [T] to make sth dirty (with rubbish, waste, etc) (以垃圾等)弄脏: Dogs must not foul the pavement. 狗不得弄脏人行道。
foul sth up(spoken 口语) to spoil sth 把…搞糟: The delay on the train fouled up my plans for the evening. 火车误点,把我晚上的计划全打乱了。
