1 [I,T] to pull or be pulled along behind sb/sth 拖;拖曳;被拖在后面: The skirt was too long and trailed along the ground. 裙子太长,走路时拖在地上。
2 [I] to move or walk slowly behind sb/sth else, usually because you are tired or bored 慢慢地跟在后面(通常因为疲乏或感到乏味): It was impossible to do any shopping with the kids trailing around after me. 孩子们慢吞吞地跟在后面,我买不成任何东西。
3 [I,T] trail (by/in sth) (usually used in the continuous tenses 通常用于进行时) to be in the process of losing a game or a competition (比分)落后: At half-time Liverpool were trailing by two goals to three. 打完半场,利物浦队以二比三落后。
