2 clear (about/on sth) sure or definite; without any doubts or confusion 确凿的;明确的: I'm not quite clear about the arrangements for tomorrow. 我不大清楚明天的安排。 ☞verb clarify 动词为clarify
3 clear (to sb) obvious 明显的: There are clear advantages to the second plan. 第二个计划的好处显而易见。It was clear to me that he was not telling the truth. 我很清楚他讲的不是真话。
4 easy to see through 透明的;清澈的: The water was so clear that we could see the bottom of the lake. 湖水清澈见底。
5 clear (of sth) free from things that are blocking the way 畅顺的: The police say that most roads are now clear of snow. 警方说大部份马路上的雪已经清除了。
6 free from marks 无痕的;明净的;晴朗的: a clear sky (= without clouds) 晴朗无云的天空a clear skin (= without spots) 光洁的皮肤
7 free from guilt 无辜的;问心无愧的;清白的: It wasn't your fault. You can have a completely clear conscience. 那不是你的错,你可以完全问心无愧。
make yourself clear;make sth clear/plain (to sb) to speak so that there can be no doubt about what you mean 说清楚: ‘I do not want you to go to that concert,’ said my mother. ‘Do I make myself clear?’ 妈妈说﹕“那个音乐会我不让你去,听明白吗?”He made it quite clear that he was not happy with the decision. 他说得很清楚,他不满意这个决定。

keep/stay/steer clear (of sb/sth) to avoid sb/sth because he/she/it may cause problems 避开: It's best to keep clear of the town centre during the rush hour. 尽量避免在繁忙时间到市中心去。

1 [T] to remove sth that is not wanted or needed 清除: to clear the roads of snow/to clear snow from the roads 清除路上的积雪It's your turn to clear the table(= to take away the dirty plates, etc after a meal). 轮到你收拾餐具。
2 [I] (used about smoke, etc) to disappear (指烟等)散开,消失: The fog slowly cleared and the sun came out. 雾慢慢散去,太阳出来了。
3 [I] (used about the sky, the weather or water) to become free of clouds, rain, or mud ﹙指天空﹑天气或水﹚转晴﹔停雨﹔变清: After a cloudy start, the weather will clear during the afternoon. 上午多云,下午天气会转晴。
4 [T] clear sb (of sth) to provide proof that sb is innocent of sth 证明某人无罪: The man has finally been cleared of murder. 这名男子终于洗脱了谋杀罪名。
5 [T] to jump over or get past sth without touching it 顺利越过
6 [T] to give official permission for a plane, ship, etc to enter or leave a place 准许飞机、船舶等进入或离开某地;准予通过: At last the plane was cleared for take-off. 最后飞机获准起飞。
