5 [T] to notice that sb/sth is not where he/she/it should be 发觉某物遗失或某人不在: When did you first miss your handbag? 你在什么时候发觉遗失了手袋?
6 [T] to avoid sth unpleasant 避开(令人不快之事): If we leave now, we'll miss the rush-hour traffic. 我们要是现在离去,就能避开车流的高峰时刻。
