2 used to emphasize the female who did the action （用于强调女性施动者）: She told me the news herself. 她亲自告诉我这个消息。Has Rosy done this herself? (= or did sb else do it for her?) 这个是罗西自己做的吗？

2 without help 独力: I don't think she needs any help -- she can change a tyre by herself. 我不认为她需要帮什么忙─她自己便能换轮胎。
